Abby Oxford
@abbyoxford

Abby was raised among picturesque land in Mt. Bethel Pennsylvania. Her love of natural elements unfolded through exploring the land she was raised and countless excursions across New York and New England with her family. Her creativity is an innate part of herself and is where she has found comfort, solitude, and happiness. Abby’s art is a reflection of her time spent in nature and draws inspiration from botanical shapes, textures, and lines. Her creative process involves a mixed media approach to capture a delicate composition.
Abby’s compassion towards others evolved from her own personal life experiences and appreciation that everyone has a unique story. With her understanding that art is an outlet for self expression and a means to process inward emotions led Abby to pursue her passions of art and counseling. Abby holds a bachelors degree in Art and Psychology, as well as a masters degree in Art Therapy. Abby is a board certified art therapist and licensed professional counselor. Her experience as a mental health clinician encompasses diverse settings which include acute psychiatric units, outpatient mental health practices, medical, cancer, and memory care facilities.
In her private practice, Abby offers art therapy and counseling to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, loss, and trauma.
Outside her role as a therapist Abby is a wife, and mother of two children whom she adores. Abby enjoys spending time with her family, immersing herself in nature and exploring her own creativity.

This mural was inspired by the nearby land where I was raised, my love of botanical shapes, and my peacock guide who often appears in my artwork. I hope this mural will serve as inspiration to others and allow for a time to reflect and appreciate the little things that surround.
